Nextdoor Nature empowers people to take action for nature where they live! Funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund to leave a lasting natural legacy in honour of The Queen's Platinum Jubilee, Nextdoor Nature gives people the skills, tools, and opportunity to help wildlife flourish near them.

the UK Government has launched an attack on nature, weakening the laws that protect our wildlife and making a U-turn on manifesto promises to be the greenest Government ever: reversing reforms to farming and making energy decisions that will worsen climate change.

The Wildlife Trusts believe that we are part of nature and that we depend on the natural world for our wellbeing and prosperity. Everything we value comes from nature and everything we do has an impact on it. We believe that nature should be a normal part of childhood and that wildlife should thrive across our landscape. However, nature is in crisis.

The landmark 2023 State of Nature Report has shown that the UK – already classified as one of the world’s most nature-depleted countries in the world – is continuing to allow nature to decline.

It has never been more evident that people care more about the state of their natural environment than ever before. With a general election on the horizon, it’s time politicians heard that message.

Spending time in nature makes us happier and healthier.

Stand for Nature Wales is a pan-Wales youth climate change project aimed to inspire and empower young people to take action for nature in their communities and beyond. The project is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.
